The Beacon Newsletter
The Beacon is the official newsletter of the Victorian Society in America / New England Chapter. Each issue of this publication features a scholarly article by a historian as well as a calendar of upcoming events for VSA/NE members and guests.
For the design of this publication, we decided to take a “time capsule” approach, so we established a standard by which no element — no image, illustration, or typeface — postdates the Victorian era. The result is a publication that appears in the mail as though it had been sent out from the 19th century — literally as though it stepped “out of the pages of history.”
